iBegin Places is an experiment in user-generated informal space.

What we want to do is (with your help) map out places of reference. Think of when you give directions to somebody - you often refer to areas/landmarks:

"Oh yeah, I love the restaurants in SoHo"

"My favorite park is Hyde Park"

"The Relic of Mountains was where we first kissed"

"My favorite hiking route is The Old Man's Crossing"

All of the quotes above referred to areas you won't normally find in the Yellow Pages.

iBegin Places lest you define these area. Our simple point and click interface lets you draw out the polygon that defines a neighborhood or a landmark.

Users can vote on unverified places. Depending on how the voting goes, they either become verified, or they get deleted.

Because you are helping generate these spaces, we give it all back to you. Every single listing can be easily exported for use in your own applications.

Our dream is to have the ultimate reference guide for neighborhoods, landmarks, parks, and pathways. If you use anything as a reference when giving directions, we want it on iBegin Places.
