iBegin Places is an experiment in user-generated informal space.

Quite the mouthful eh?

Neighborhoods, parks, landmarks, and pathways - these are all used as a reference point when talking to others.

"Oh yeah, I love the restaurants in SoHo"
"My favorite park is Hyde Park"
"The Relic of Mountains was where we first kissed"
"My favorite hiking route is The Old Man's Crossing"

All four of the above talked about areas that is hard to define. Areas that you don't find in the yellow pages. But areas that you refer to every day.

iBegin Places lets you define these spaces. The math is simple - all the data contributed to the site is available back to everyone (for free). It's a win-win situation.

It couldn't be easier to use. Just click on Create, and start clicking away on the map. Voila! You are drawing our your informal space. Use the virtual mid-points to get the shape just right. Click on a point to delete it. Put in the necessary information, click save, and bam - your informal space is done and ready to be verified by other users!
